衛生工程(Sanitary Engineering)包括自來水之供給及污廢水之
收集、處理及排放,與國計民生有密切關聯。內容包括自來水水源
的種類、水質和出水量,自來水用水量、污水量與雨水逕流量的估
計,用水與污水的水質、抽水站的規劃與設計,配水管與配水系統
的規劃、污水與雨水下水道系統規劃,自來水管、污水管與雨水下
水道之水力設計、結構設計和施工,以及污水處分工程等。本課程
是學了力學、水文學和流體力學後應用在工程的一門實務課程。
Sanitary Engineering covers drinking water supply, urban drainage,
wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal. The topics include
estimating the quantity of water needed, wastewater, and urban runoff; sources for public water supply, water abstraction, transport, treatment, and distribution; design and construction of storm and sanitary sewer systems, water purification processes in natural systems, and also water pollution control strategy.
