課程內容概述Course Description | 本課程係介紹雅典民主政治最重要的機制:法庭,以及法律與實踐之間的關係。雅典法庭是護衛雅典城邦(polis)、人民(demos)以及民主政治(demokratia),來對抗豪強貴族的欺凌,進而藉由法庭機制主宰雅典政治發展。這群演說詞史料除了對瞭解四世紀成熟雅典民主政治極為關鍵之外,也是瞭解雅典社會、經濟以及心理史最重要的素材。本課程雖然在介紹時會強調其政治背景,但在討論議題時,則多以社會、經濟及心理方面為主。 | ||||||

課程學習目標Course Goal | 本課程希望介紹修課同學瞭解以下幾件重要議題: (1) 雅典城邦做為論述空間(discursive space)中logos的重要性以及如何經營logos之修辭學的運用。 (2) 雅典民主政治以及法庭之間的關係;從人民及城邦觀點來看對蘇格拉底的審判。 (3) 雅典法庭演說詞所提及之諸項社會議題,以及親自體會雅典人如何透過訴訟以及公民仲裁,以和平方式來解決糾紛。 (4) 透過上述諸點的探索,我們有機會來反省我們所在之自由主義傳統民主政治的特色及限制。 | ||||||
