With the advance in computer technology, the artificial intelligent technologies have been utilized to solve those problems that can not be solved properly through the use of conventional technologies. In additional, the technology of artificial neural network has been recognized as one of the most applicable and reliable artificial intelligent technologies since 1960.Therefore, the primary object of this course is to provide the mathematical fundamentals of artificial neural networks and their possible applications in Geomatics engineering.
This course is divided into four modules which are given as follows: The first modules provides the historic reviews and general mathematical fundamentals, the second modules the theory and derivation of related formulas of supervised neural networks, the third module provides the theory and derivation related formulas of unsupervised neural networks, and the fourth module includes the applications with the incorporation of artificial neural networks in Geomatics engineering , including intelligent signal and image processing, image segmentation and classification, noise reduction, feature extraction, and navigation.
